Take me on your date...

"This was our first ever professional photo shoot experience and we were a little nervous and awkward, but Amanda is exceptional! She made us feel so comfortable and had great tips and tricks! We worked together to pick the best location, she gave great advice on what to wear/ bring, and was so patience with our hyper pups! The pictures turned out better than we could ever imagine! Amanda has a great eye for detail, and we highly recommend booking with her! ♥️"

INTERESTED IN A COUPLES OR AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

  • What is your photography style and how do you capture family moments
My photography style is a mix of lifestyle and documentary, focusing on real moments, genuine connections, and natural emotions. I aim to document your family’s unique bond—whether it’s the little laughs, tender touches, or playful interactions. While I’ll guide you through some posed moments, I focus on documenting candid shots that show the love and joy that happens when you’re simply being yourselves together
  • How do you make sure my kids stay engaged and happy during the session?
I know that keeping kids engaged can sometimes be a challenge, but I love making photo sessions fun and interactive! I’ll often use games, prompts, or even silly noises to get natural smiles and laughter. I focus on capturing candid moments, so there’s no need to stress about perfect poses—just let them be themselves, and I’ll take care of the rest. And if your little one needs a break, we can always take a pause to keep things relaxed and stress-free.
  • What should we wear for our family photo session?
When it comes to wardrobe, I recommend coordinating outfits that complement each other without being too "matchy." Soft, neutral tones or pastels work well, as do earthy colors for a more natural look. Avoid overly busy patterns or logos, as they can distract from the connection between you and your family. Most importantly, wear something that feels comfortable and reflects your family's personal style! If you're unsure, I’m happy to offer specific outfit ideas based on your session's vibe.
  • When should I schedule my session?
I recommend booking your session about 3 months in advance to make sure your preferred date is available. The next thing to consider is the season that speaks to you most—many families love the warmth and light of summer or the rich, golden tones of fall. That said, I’ve also worked with families who are all about the cool, muted tones of late fall or the magic of a snowy winter session. Golden hour (about an hour before sunset) is a favorite for that dreamy, warm glow, but we can absolutely find the right time of day to suit your schedule and vision!
  • What location should I choose?
I always suggest choosing a location that holds personal meaning—it adds a beautiful layer of sentiment to your session. This could be a local park you frequent with your kids, a beach you love, a favorite hiking trail, the family cottage, or even your own backyard. If you're looking for something a bit different or more creative, I’d love to chat—I've always got ideas up my sleeve! You might also consider incorporating a family tradition or activity you enjoy together, like apple picking, pumpkin patches, or ice skating. The goal is to find a setting that truly reflects you and your family’s unique vibe.
  • How many pictures do I get back?
Each session is unique, with factors like session length and the number of people involved, so the exact number of photos can vary. However, for most full sessions (60-90 minutes), clients can expect around 40+ photos. I tend to overdeliver, so don't be surprised if you receive even more than that!
  • Do I receive Black and White images as well?
Yes, absolutely! I love offering both color and black-and-white versions of your photos. You'll receive a mix of both in your final gallery. I will choose the images that work best in black and white to add a timeless, emotional touch to your collection and also include their colored version. I also offer the choice between a classic black and white edit or a softer, warmer sepia-toned black and white version.
  • What should I wear?
Choosing what to wear does not require the stress most feel when it comes to this part of the planning. Once we schedule your session, I send you a “What to Wear Guide” that offers a variety of “Do & Don’t” tips as well as color scheme samples. Don’t forget, that I am a phone call/message/e-mail away at any time to help you along the way. The important things to remember are to be comfortable and to be you. Remember, you’ll be looking back at these memories for years to come so dress yourselves in a way that you want to be remembered.
  • How long will it take to get my photos and how do I get them back?
For most sessions (excluding Weddings), you'll receive your photos within 3 weeks. Your images will be delivered via an online gallery, sent to you by email. From there, you can download both high-resolution files (best for printing) and web-sized versions (perfect for social media and websites). The gallery remains active for 3 weeks to give you ample time to download your images (and if more time is required, I'm happy to extend that). IIf you'd like to receive a USB with your album, just let me know, and I’d be happy to arrange that for you for a small additional fee!
  • What happens if I need to reschedule or weather does not permit our session from happening?
Unexpected things can happen and the weather can change in the blink of an eye! I am a very understanding person and would ask to be notified at least 24-hours in advance however I understand emergencies can happen. Should we need to reschedule, your retainer will be held onto until we can reschedule to a new date!
